Classic earthy Pinot flavours to pair well with mushrooms, beef dishes, tuna, fresh goat cheese or brie.
Picked commencing October 7, 2008, representing fruit from our two adjoining vineyards with two different soil profiles, clay loam and clay sand loam overlaying limestone. The average Brix at harvest was 21.1. Fermented and placed into all new French oak barrels and barrel-aged 20 months prior to bottling.
“…one of the charmers of the vintage with a fragrant nose of strawberry-sour cherry jam amid new oak, toast and vanillin.”
-David Lawrason, The County Grapevine, Holiday 2010 Issue
“…it is automatically in the running as a County classic – lovely fruit complexion, balance and length.”
-David Lawrason
"...This is a light, fragrant, delicate and delicious Pinot. Pomegranate, red currant, red cherry, savoury – spicy – mineral nuances on the nose. Very fresh over the palate with silk – soft tannins and cranberry flavour and spicy – white pepper finish. I am not sure of its oak regime, but it’s not really obvious. I look forward to tasting the other wines this winery produces."
